In 2014, I decided to do something radical. I decided to have a dinner party for 6 people. I love entertaining and I love cooking, but my tiny, 300 square foot studio apartment was not ideal. The size was one obstacle, but the larger hurdle was the fact that my bed was always in the way. Believe me when I say that nothing makes you feel less like an adult than having friends over and hanging out on your bed. So I sought to find solutions that were space-friendly, budget-friendly, and looked dope!
After a year of researching and months of renovating, I was able to have that dinner party. Along the way, I found remarkable resources and gained a ton of knowledge in the fields of interior design and minimalist living. Websites like LifeEdited and books like The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up became my instruction manuals.
Once work on my apartment was complete, I was still energized about this topic. I loved the idea of designing spaces to be efficient and aesthetically pleasing. So in 2017 I launched Space Optimized. Space Optimized is a website that allows me to continue to exploring interior design and space optimization. I offer design and consultation services to help others benefit from the knowledge I gained during my experience.
