Why I Do What I Do
In 2021, I faced an unexpected turning point when I was laid off from my job as a 3D Artist at Blue Sky Studios after spending 13 years there honing my artistic and technical skills.
Suddenly, I found myself feeling lost and unsure of my next steps. Like many in my field, I assumed my only option was to compete for another role in the media and entertainment industry, whether it be in Animated Films, Commercials, or Gaming.
However, I soon discovered that the world of 3D is much more expansive than I had ever imagined.
I found an incredible opportunity with Adobe's Substance 3D team, which opened my eyes to the diverse industries utilizing 3D in innovative ways. From footwear design to medical visualization, the demand for 3D skills is soaring across various sectors like fashion, product design, architectural visualization, and AR/VR.
Today, I see many talented 3D artists in the same situation I was in—searching for work and feeling lost and uncertain. That's why I am passionate about ensuring that every 3D artist is aware of the wide array of opportunities available to them. I also strive to educate companies about the tools and workflows that can help them harness the full potential of these incredible artists.
